Condition Notes

This pair of Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G floorstanders came off our own demonstration floor and is in excellent condition. The Satin White lacquer is clean and even across both cabinets with no notable marks, the C-CAM cones and gold dome tweeters are unmarked, and the gold-plated bi-wire terminals are as new with their links fitted. One pair only, at a substantial saving over the $2,999 RRP.

The Silver 200 is the model that makes the Silver range make sense. Two 5.25-inch RST II drivers in a 2.5-way arrangement, with the upper one handling mid-bass and the lower one bass alone, give it reach to 34 Hz from a cabinet only 165 mm wide. It is a floorstander that disappears into a room rather than dominating it, which matters more in most Australian living rooms than another inch of driver ever would.

The dual-chamber cabinet uses differential tuning across twin HiVe ports, so the two bass sections load differently and the low end stays even rather than piling up at one frequency. Rigid Surface Technology II dimples the metal cones to push break-up above the working band, and the 1-inch C-CAM gold dome sits in a Uniform Dispersion waveguide that keeps the top end coherent well off axis.

They will run happily on 60 watts and reward rather more, and the bi-wire terminals leave the door open if you want to split the feed later. Equally at home as a stereo pair or as the front left and right of a cinema built around a Silver C250.
