The R200 is a lot of speaker for the money, and one of the best-value bookshelves we sell. The extra woofer size over the smaller R100 gives it noticeably more bass, making it just as happy on stands as a stereo pair as it is anchoring the front of a home theatre. Just pair it with a capable amplifier, as it dips to 3.8 ohms and rewards a bit of power. Sold as a pair.

Pro Tip: The R200 has a rear-firing X-Port, so give it 20 to 30 cm of space from the wall behind for the cleanest, tightest bass. Pushed hard against the wall it will sound fuller but can get boomy, so pull it out a little if you want the bass to stay controlled.

Wonderful if powered correctly

After owning these for 12 months I wanted to share my experience for the benefit of anyone looking to buy Polk R200 speakers.
I run these as front speakers in a 7.1 setup.
Polk R400 centre, Polk R900 height rears and V60 ceiling. And a big sub.
I’ve always been slightly disappointed with the R200 sounding slightly dull and closed up.
Long story short I spoke to someone experienced who looked at my set up and said these are 86db sensitivity, this along with so many other speakers your we’ll underpowered and these need power, a 2 channel quality 150watt p channel amp changed everything!!
Fronts are now louder and completely opened up with far more detail.. so much better and now the rest of the speakers are far louder and clearer.
Power 💥 is the answer to these sounding great.
I believe 200 watts would be even better sounding opening them up completely..

The speakers are amazing, the sound quality n value are the best in both world ,you get high power handling sparkle clear high vocal is natural n forward, it just spotted on for me , bass is the star but if you want more subwoofer is needed. I Owned the Polk rti A9 before , this is an amazing improvement over the rti range , My future upgrade will be the floor standing ones either the R700 or R600 for a full body sound.
All you needed is a 120w+ rms per channel power amplifier or receiver to get the most from them, ideally 200w rms power.
All in all, CHT solutions is a great store with excellent service, my only go to store Thank You so much Scott, love my R200 a lot, remember they do take time to break in , approximately 3days to one week .Thank You for everything Cheers.
Additional info , they never sounded fatiguing with high-resolution Highs top tweeter performance for it's price range !
