Condition Notes

This pair of Monitor Audio Silver 100 7G standmounts came off our own demonstration floor and is in excellent condition. The Ash veneer is clean on all faces with no notable marks, the C-CAM cones and gold dome tweeters are unmarked, and the gold-plated binding posts are as new. Both magnetic grilles are included. One pair only, at a substantial saving over the $1,799 RRP.

The Silver 100 is the standmount that behaves like something larger. Monitor Audio fitted an 8-inch C-CAM mid-bass driver where most rivals stop at six and a half, and the result is genuine reach to 35 Hz from a cabinet you can still put on a pair of stands. Bass guitar lines arrive whole rather than implied, and film soundtracks keep their weight without a subwoofer having to cover for the front channels.

Rigid Surface Technology II dimples the metal cone to push break-up modes above the working band, which is why the Silver 100 stays composed when you push it. The 1-inch C-CAM gold dome sits in a Uniform Dispersion waveguide, so the top end holds together across a wider listening area than the price suggests, and the HiVe II rear port tuned to 42 Hz gives the low end its extension without the one-note thump a lazier reflex design would.

They suit a medium room on stands as a stereo pair, or the front three of a compact cinema alongside a Silver C250. Give them 40 watts or more and a hand's width of breathing room behind each cabinet.
