Condition Notes

This Marantz Cinema 70s came off our own demonstration floor and is in excellent condition. The front panel and the brushed side cheeks are clean with no notable marks, the controls all operate correctly and the rear panel and terminals are as new. One only, at a saving over the $1,800 RRP.

The Cinema 70s exists because plenty of good rooms cannot take a full-height receiver. At 109 mm tall it slides into a shelf or cabinet that would defeat a conventional AV amplifier, and it does it without dropping to a virtual or compromised feature set. Seven channels of discrete Class A/B amplification, the full Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding list, and 8K video with VRR and ALLM for console gaming are all present.

Six HDMI inputs, three of them 8K-rated, feed a single eARC output. Audyssey MultEQ with Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume handles the room, twin subwoofer outputs let you run a pair, and there is a moving-magnet phono stage for a turntable. HEOS, AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect are built in, with a second zone for another room.

It is not the receiver for driving large floorstanders in a big space, and it does not pretend to be. For a 5.1.2 or 7.2 living-room system where the box has to fit somewhere sensible, very little else sounds this good.
