Condition Notes
This Marantz AMP 10 came off our own demonstration floor and is in excellent condition. The metal front panel is clean with no notable marks, the porthole level meter and dimmer operate correctly, and the rear panel is immaculate with all sixteen speaker terminals and every input unmarked.
It is complete, with the AC cord, amp control cable, remote control cable, speaker terminal wrench and documentation all present in the original carton. One only, at a substantial saving over the $13,000 RRP.
The AMP 10 is not a receiver's power stage grown larger. It is the amplifier Marantz built to sit beneath the AV 10 processor and anchor the kind of cinema where the processing and the amplification are deliberately separated, and it brings sixteen channels of 200 watts to that job in a single chassis.
The engineering is the point. Custom Class D output stages are fed through Marantz HDAM-SA2 modules, the discrete amplification blocks from the two-channel range, so the signal passes through Marantz's own circuitry rather than a generic input buffer. The chassis is copper plated. Inputs are balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA across all sixteen channels, selected by switch.
Configuration is flexible in ways that matter at this level. Any pair of channels can be bridged for 400 watts into 8 ohms, or run in bi-amp mode, so a sixteen-channel amplifier can instead become eight channels of serious power for difficult front speakers, or any mix in between. Trigger in and out, RS-232 and the Marantz Remote Bus make it behave properly in a custom install.
Paired with an AV 10 or a Cinema 30, this is the top of what Marantz builds for home theatre. At this price it is a long way below what that normally costs to buy into.
