Lumagen Radiance Pro 5348 Video Processor

The 5348 is the flagship Radiance Pro: ten inputs, two 18 GHz video outputs and an audio-only output. It's built for the room where everything goes through the processor, or where one processor has to feed two displays.

Ten inputs

Every source in the rack gets its own input with its own settings. Disc player, two streamers, console, PC, media server, broadcast, karaoke, the lot. No HDMI switch, no receiver in the video path, and switching is near instant.

Two video outputs

The common uses are a projector plus a flat panel in the same room (the projector for films, the TV for daytime), or a projector plus a second display in a control or games room. Each output can carry its own configuration, so the projector gets tone-mapped HDR and the TV gets its native HDR untouched.

What it does for the picture

The same engine as the 4240 and 4242: Dynamic Tone Mapping, NoRing scaling, per-pixel deinterlacing, automatic aspect ratio with non-linear stretch and anamorphic support, true genlock, 3 ms game mode, 4913-point 3D LUT CMS and 21-point parametric greyscale. 12-bit 4:2:2 pipeline, HDMI 2.0 4K60, HDCP 2.3, Dolby LLDV compatible.

Ten 18 GHz HDMI inputs, two 18 GHz HDMI outputs, one audio-only HDMI output. 1U rack chassis, rack ears included.

Who it suits

A full reference room with a big rack, a dual-display room, or anyone who has run out of inputs on a 4242. If you're weighing this against the Artisan, the question is whether you need HDMI 2.1 (8K, 4K120) now or within a few years; if not, the 5348 is the most connectable 4K processor made.
