Overview
The Artisan is Lumagen's new platform and the first of its processors designed for HDMI 2.1. It keeps everything the Radiance Pro is known for and moves the pipeline to 12-bit 4:4:4, with eight inputs, two outputs and a software key that unlocks 8K and 4K120 input and output.
What's new
- 12-bit 4:4:4 processing. Full chroma resolution through the whole chain. On a large screen, fine colour edges (text, UI, animation) are cleaner than the 4:2:2 Radiance Pro.
- HDMI 2.1 ready. The hardware is in the box; the HDMI 2.1 key enables 8K and 4K120 passthrough or processing when you need it. Buy the processor now, add the key when the projector arrives.
- Latest Dynamic Tone Mapping. HDR10, Dolby LLDV and HLG. Lumagen's DTM is the reason most people own one, and this is its current best version.
- DARBEE up to 4K60. Visual Presence enhancement for sources up to 4K60 (the Radiance Pro caps it at 1080p).
- Rec 2020 desaturation for Rec 709 or P3 projectors, so wide-gamut sources don't clip on a projector that can't reach them.
Everything carried over
NoRing scaling, per-pixel deinterlacing, non-linear stretch and full aspect, size and masking control, true video genlock (no dropped or duplicated frames), 3 ms game mode, 21-point 1D LUT and 4913-point 3D LUT CMS, fast source switching. HDMI 1.x and 2.0 with HDCP 1.x and 2.3 on all inputs and outputs.

Eight HDMI inputs, two HDMI outputs. 2U rack chassis, rack ears included. Two-year warranty, extendable to five.
Who it suits
The room you're building to last. If you're specifying a projector now and expect to want 4K120 gaming or an 8K path in its lifetime, the Artisan is the processor to put in the rack. For a film-only 4K room, a Radiance Pro remains excellent value; talk to us and we'll tell you which.
