All orders over $79 include Free Shipping Australia Wide. For orders under $79 we shipping cost is $15.

A handmade entry-level turntable that plays straight out of the box

The Pro-Ject E1 Turntable is the first deck in Pro-Ject's E-Line, handmade in Europe and set up ready to play. It arrives with a factory-fitted Pick It MM E cartridge, an 8.6-inch aluminium tonearm and a 33/45 RPM electronic speed switch, with the tracking force and anti-skating already adjusted for you. A CNC-machined composite fibre plinth and an anti-resonant ABS platter keep the sound clean.

Under the Hood

  • Pick It MM E cartridge. The supplied cartridge uses a low-mass design with a miniature neodymium magnet and a conical diamond tip, for accurate tracking and a warm, smooth sound with low background noise.
  • 8.6-inch aluminium tonearm. A lightweight, low-friction aluminium tonearm keeps the cartridge tracking cleanly across the record.
  • Anti-resonant platter and plinth. The ABS Polymer platter has acoustic ridges for an anti-resonant surface, and the CNC-machined composite fibre plinth is built with no hollow spaces for structural integrity.

CHT Insider Verdict

The E1 is one of the simplest ways into good-sounding vinyl. Pro-Ject has done the fiddly setup for you and paired a capable cartridge with a proper aluminium tonearm, so all you need to do is add records. For a first turntable, or a return to vinyl, it is honest, tidy and easy to live with.

Pro Tip: The tracking force and anti-skating are pre-set at the factory, so leave both untouched when you unbox it. Just fit the platter and felt mat and you are ready to play, with no tools or adjustment needed.
