Tight, Musical Bass You Can Dial In
The SVS SB-1000 Pro is a compact sealed subwoofer that pairs tight, musical bass with full app control. Its 12-inch driver and 325-watt Sledge amplifier reach down to 20Hz from a cabinet you can tuck anywhere, and the SVS app lets you tune the crossover, EQ and level to your room from your seat. It's the sealed sub for people who want accuracy and control.
Why You'll Love It
-
Tight, accurate bass: The sealed cabinet delivers fast, controlled low end that starts and stops on cue, so music stays tuneful and effects hit cleanly without booming or overhang.
-
Tune it from your seat: The SVS app puts crossover, three-band parametric EQ, polarity, room gain and three presets on your phone, so you can dial the bass in perfectly for music or movies in minutes.
-
Deep bass, small box: A 12-inch driver and 325 watts reach a genuine 20Hz from a cabinet just 33cm wide, so you get serious extension without a sub that dominates the room.
Under the Hood
-
Sledge STA-325D amplifier: 325 watts RMS (820+ peak) of discrete-MOSFET Class D power with a 50MHz DSP, borrowing amplifier technology from SVS's flagship 16-Ultra series.
-
High-excursion 12-inch driver: A long-throw driver with 13mm of clean excursion and an FEA-optimised motor delivers high, low-distortion output that belies the compact sealed cabinet.
-
Sealed for precision: The rigid, braced cabinet is tuned for a natural 20Hz to 270Hz response, favouring tight, true-to-source bass over the exaggerated output of a ported design.
CHT Insider Verdict
The SB-1000 Pro is SVS's entry into app-controlled sealed subs, and a lot of subwoofer for the money: tight, musical bass with the tuning control and extra output the cheaper Classic leaves out. It's a great starting point for a two-channel system or a smaller room where accuracy matters more than volume. Step up to the ported PB-1000 Pro for deeper movie bass or a larger SVS sub for more output, or drop to the SB-1000 Classic if you don't need the app.
Pro Tip: Use the app's three presets to save separate tunings, one flat and tight for music, one with a little more room gain for movies, and switch between them with a tap. It's the easiest way to get the best of both without recalibrating every time.
