Surround sound, done properly

The Monitor Audio Gold FX 5G is a dedicated surround speaker built to disappear into a room while doing serious work. Each speaker carries two MPD high-frequency transducers and two 4" C-CAM mid/bass drivers, and a switch changes them between bi-pole and di-pole modes to suit your room. They are sold as a matched, handed pair.

Under the Hood

  • Dual MPD high-frequency transducers. Two MPD transducers per speaker deliver extended, smooth highs, crossing over to the mid/bass drivers at 2.5kHz.
  • C-CAM mid/bass drivers. Each speaker uses two 4" (100mm) C-CAM cone drivers, secured with single-bolt-through fixing for added bracing and driver de-coupling.
  • Sealed cabinet, 4Ω load. The sealed enclosure suits placement close to a wall or in a restricted void. Nominal impedance is 4Ω (3.7Ω minimum at 3kHz), with a recommended amplifier range of 30 to 100W.
